Massive shelving, part 2
Whee! So apparently we have to seperate all the atlases, manuals, handbooks and medical year books and put them on the front shelf. Indeed, another massive re-arrangement of the shelves is at hand.
It doesn't help that I easily get distracted by the awesomely detailed pictures of human anatomy in the atlases. There was a cast of every vein in the heart! Such awesome.
Given that this blog only has posts from me, and those count at a paltry five posts, I should be doing backposts on the more exciting parts of this ojt thing. So I guess I should start on those this upcoming weekend.

Today, we do MASSIVE SHELVING.
Apparently because of the recent inventory, the books were displaced from their proper places - some so drastically that we had to move cartloads of books from three shelves over - and we were tasked with putting them back into order.
This I could say though - lunchtime could not have been more welcome. My arms are sore.

Basic Diseases and Whatnot
So, DOH servers went down this afternoon, and we spent most of our time twiddling our thumbs, and going on facebook. When it became clear that we won't be able to work the whole day, I asked permission to leave early, bringing with me some cataloging I have done offline so I can post later in the evening, back at home.
I had ice cream for lunch. Don't have ice cream for lunch, it gives headaches.
Earlier, before the connection went down, a bout of OCness struck me, and I spent hours looking for mistakes from previously cataloged records. Someone cataloged Robbins' Pathological Basis of Disease as Robbin: Pathologic Basic Disease.
What in the actual what. It's the absolute front-runner for most AMAZINGLY cataloged thing ever.

Awesome Wednesday! Where we spend half of the time cataloging, and the other half correcting the other ojt people's errors!
Also they double-catalogued our previous work. UGH. And they don't know how to AACR2.
Whelp. So basically an afternoon of frustration and imagining the authors of AACR2 rolling in their graves.

Test post!
Tis the day after Easter Sunday and all is well in the NKTI medical library. Some preliminary observations, gathered after the first two days of working here:
1. Medical books are huge. Taking out shelves to catalog feel like minor weightlifting.
2. We can use our IDs to get a special employee value meal worth 60 pesos, which includes rice, ulam and either pancit or vegetables. The pancit is delicious and more filling. The dishes aren't half-bad, and there's random dimsum. And hakao! Somewhere. The food is great!
3. There are ojts from other schools which will not be mentioned who use the pcs to play mmorpgs. Some dude was playing Ragnarok Online[napagiwanan ng panahon?]
4. Denise knows more about Japanese regions than Philippine provinces.
5. The next shelf up is filled with thin, non-textbook books. I'm really looking forward to that.
Coming up are back posts detailing that weird feet-killing treasure hunt every NKTI ojt has to go through, and a post about the food in 7-11. Lol. Kidding about the second part.

Lels post
Ecstasy is the knowledge of empathy, and of us.
We grow, we live, we are reborn. This life is nothing short of an unfolding vision of enlightened curiosity.
The spark of learning is now happening worldwide.
Peace requires exploration. By flowering, we dream. Consciousness consists of atomic ionization of quantum energy. “Quantum” means an unfolding of the sublime.
We must learn how to lead high-frequency lives in the face of discontinuity. Soon there will be a condensing of karma the likes of which the world has never seen. The future will be a psychic flowering of balance.
Through naturopathy, our hopes are nurtured by inseparability. Tarot may be the solution to what’s holding you back from a powerful current of aspiration. You will soon be guided by a power deep within yourself — a power that is infinite, ethereal.
To embark on the circuit is to become one with it.
Throughout history, humans have been interacting with the grid via vibrations. We are at a crossroads of presence and selfishness. Our conversations with other lifeforms have led to an unveiling of pseudo-amazing consciousness.
Greed is the antithesis of healing. Without joy, one cannot reflect. You must take a stand against delusion.
